Hello all!

I was going to leave this blog alone for a while because I haven't had any updates on myself lately - which is a good thing!  I am very pregnant right now and awaiting the arrival of our son.  Life is grand.  But, I just have to put a post up about a guy that has recently been diagnosed.  He is also from North Augusta, and his name in Tyler Golden.  I heard about him through my niece Lauren.  He was her prom date last year and they have been good friends for years.  At first I thought he had Non-Hodgkin's but after friending him on Facebook I realized that he had in fact been diagnosed with Hodgkin's.  I was shocked.  It's such a rare diagnosis that you almost never hear of two people from the same town having it.

I had a baby shower in my hometown last weekend and thought it was the perfect chance to stop by and see Tyler.  He has had a rough time with chemo and it hit his white cell count hard.  He had to be admitted back into the hospital last weekend and he is still there.  I stopped by on Sunday on my way back to Atlanta and met him, his Mom Molly and his Dad Lewis.  He is such a nice guy and so is his family.  They have staged him at 3B, and his oncologist is hitting the cancer hard with this chemo since he had some breathing issues.  He had a large tumor in his chest, a few in his neck and several below the diaphragm. 

It was amazing to sit there and talk with them about their situation.  I've never talked face to face with anyone else who has been diagnosed with it.  It felt good to show them that life will get better, and that this is just a bump in the road for them.  I know the fact that I am healthy and almost 8 months pregnant made them feel good about their situation. 

So, if you all could please pray for Tyler.  He is going through the absolute hardest time right now.  It's still all new to him, and it takes some getting used to.  He's going to be as good as new in no time, but he's got to get over this hurdle first.
